Day #25

Africa has the population of 891 million people, with the highest birthrate of any continent. Africa is projected to grow to 2 billion people by 2050. Women in sub-Saharan Africa bear an average of 6 children. Life expectancy is low for example, the average woman only lives to be 34 in Sierra Leone and 37 in Zambia.

-Almost 14 million of the 18 million women living with HIV/AIDS worldwide live in sub-Saharan Africa.

-25% of the population in sub-Saharan Africa is age 4 or younger- almost two in 10 will die before reaching their fifth birthday.

-An estimated 24 million girls are deprived of an elementary school education across Africa.

-Females in Zambia have little hope for a future; 50% of pregnant women are HIV positive.

-Approximately 1000 girls aged between 14 and 24 are trafficked from Mozambique to work as prostitutes in South Africa each year.

Prayer:

-GOD loves Africa. He wants to give this continent hope and future. Jer 29:11
-that God would reveal the fullness of his gospel to Africa, that it has power to transform every sphere of society
-for godly men and women to live pure lives
